Radio silence honors Spokane police lieutenant’s service

SPOKANE, Wash. – A moment of radio silence was observed at noon on Saturday to honor Lieutenant Jon Anderson, who lost his life in the line of duty six years ago.

Anderson began his career with the Spokane Police Department in 1992 after serving with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. Over more than 30 years, he rose from officer to lieutenant, taking on roles such as detective, motor officer, TAC team member and honor guard leader.

He played a crucial role in securing major events like Bloomsday and Hoopfest. His dedication earned him the Silver Star and two Chief’s Citations…
