Thousands come together to celebrate 4th of July in Kailua

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The 4th of July means there’s a big party in Kailua. Thousands here at Kailua Beach Park are getting ready for the annual fireworks show.

But the party just started this morning with the town’s annual parade.

It’s a day for everyone to celebrate the red white and blue. Thousands lined Kainalu Drive for the annual Kailua Town Parade.

“It’s just so exciting to see a great turnout of residents,” said Bill Hicks, Kailua Neighborhood Board Chair. “The whole parade route was full of flags, full of good cheer, full of patriotism. We’re very proud of this parade.”…
