Taft meth lab dismantled, 5 arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Authorities dismantled a drug lab located inside a house in Taft this week and arrested five people, seizing 242 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 2,500 pounds of liquid meth, according to sheriff’s officials.

Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in Wednesday’s raid at a home in the 7000 block of North Street.

Abraham Casarez, 21, Jorge Castro-Medina, 43, Emanuel Carmen, 40, and Julio Valencia-Hurtado, 38, all of Mexico, were arrested at the lab, officials said. Lauriano Castro, 45, of Mexico was arrested in the 4900 block of South Union Avenue in Bakersfield, officials said…
