BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A commercial box truck that was reported stolen out of Birmingham was stopped in Mississippi on Saturday, leading to a man being taken into custody.
According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi, Alabama authorities informed its dispatch at about 3:25 p.m. Saturday they were in pursuit of the stolen vehicle. The LCSO stated the box truck entered the county around 4:19 p.m.

Deputies spiked three tires on the vehicle. Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers and deputies followed the box truck until it entered Meridian. Police officers from Meridian joined the pursuit.
The pursuit ended at Exit 157B on I-59/20 westbound. A man was then taken into custody. Authorities continued to investigate the case…
