Shower chances return Sunday and linger through the work week

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – High pressure will keep the weather hot and mostly dry through the first half of the weekend. A frontal boundary will drift in from the west Sunday afternoon and remain draped over the Tri-State through all of next week. This will lead to daily chances for showers and storms. Each day won’t be a wash-out, but there is at least the chance for scattered showers and storms, mostly during the afternoon, each day.

Overall, the holiday weekend is looking good! Today will be the drier of the two days. Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures topping out in the mid-90s. Heat index values will start to creep up to the triple digits. However, they will remain below Heat Advisory levels. Skies will remain clear overnight with lows dropping into the low to mid-70s. A frontal boundary will bring a slight chance for isolated to scattered showers Sunday afternoon. Outside of a passing shower or storm, skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid-90s. Most of any shower/storm activity will start to subside after sunset.
