Huntsville Weather Alert: Scattered Storms and Triple-Digit Heat Index Through Midweek

Huntsville, Alabama – Dangerous heat will continue across north Alabama through midweek, with afternoon heat index values peaking around 100 degrees and increasing chances for thunderstorms each day.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, highs from Sunday through Wednesday will remain in the low to mid-90s, with only isolated storms expected today and Monday—mainly west of I-65. Storm chances increase to 40–50% Tuesday and 60% by Wednesday as moisture surges into the region.

Localized downpours and lightning could disrupt outdoor plans, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours. Overnight lows will remain muggy in the low 70s, offering little relief for those without air conditioning.
