Update: Be ready for strong thunderstorms in Michigan Sunday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued an updated report at 2:47 p.m. EDT on Sunday for strong thunderstorms until 3:30 p.m. EDT for Saginaw, Tuscola, Shiawassee and Genesee counties.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

“At 2:47 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Frankenmuth to near New Lothrop to Lennon. Movement was northeast at 35 mph,” according to the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”…
