First Alert Weather: Hot temperatures Sunday with an isolated rain chance

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Happy Sunday!

It’s a dry and sunny start to the day with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. It is going to be another hot and sunny afternoon across central Alabama with high temperatures climbing into the low to mid 90s.

We will likely remain mostly sunny today, so, make sure you apply the sunscreen if you plan to be outside for an extended period of time. The UV Index is extreme today which means you can burn within ten minutes of sun exposure.

An isolated shower or storm can’t be ruled out today, but the majority of us will remain dry. The main threat from any isolated shower or storm will be heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. If you have any evening plans, we will likely remain mostly clear and dry with temperatures cooling into the mid 80s by 8 p.m.

A few storms possible Monday: We will likely wake up tomorrow morning dry with temperatures in the lower 70s. Tomorrow will likely remain dry for many of us, but we can still see a few storms develop during the afternoon and early evening hours…
