West Des Moines man wins $100,000 Powerball after picking his own numbers

CLIVE, Iowa — A West Des Moines man won $100,000 after picking his own Powerball numbers, something he normally doesn’t do.

At his wife’s request, William Rogers says he normally lets the computer pick his ticket numbers.

Rogers had purchased the ticket at the Hy-Vee at 1990 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines and discovered his big win while checking the numbers with his wife, Yoko, over their morning coffee.
