LEESBURG, Va. (7News) — A bald eagle has been released back into the wild after a six-week rehabilitation for lead poisoning and a swollen wing, according to officials from Loudoun County Animal Services.
The adult eagle was rescued on May 8, after a humane law enforcement officer climbed a tree and used limb cutters to free a bird found entangled in a fishing line.
Caring Hands Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education personnel took the eagle in for the night, and it was transported to the rehabilitation organization Blue Ridge Wildlife Center the following morning…
