Compromised roof prompts firefighters to evacuate while battling an Amherst blaze

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A compromised roof led to firefighters needing to evacuate an Amherst home on Friday night.

The fire call came in around 10 p.m. from residents at 41 Burgundy Terrace, near North French Road and Campbell Boulevard. They reported a possible grease fire in the kitchen.
