Hours long manhunt ends in Cheatham County with 1 suspect in custody

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (WKRN) — An hours-long manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies ended Sunday afternoon with at least one suspect in custody, according to Cheatham County officials.

The manhunt took authorities to Thompson Road in Ashland City off Highway 12. Because of the closure on Thompson Road, many nearby residents trying to drop off their trash at the Thompson Road Convenience and Recycling Center were turned away including 25-year resident Dwayne Whitehead.

“There’s too much crime in the world. They don’t have morals anymore; not everybody but too many… it’s just ridiculous,” Whitehead told News 2. “The whole world has just gotten where good is bad, bad is good, up is down down is up… everything just turned around. It’s getting ridiculous.”

According to the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, the manhunt began with a car chase when authorities were alerted to a stolen car out of the Metro Nashville area. The search involved an MNPD helicopter, ACPD, the TWRA, and a Montgomery County canine unit…
