DETROIT, MI – A 16-year-old was shot and killed by police Thursday night, July 3, after allegedly shooting an officer in the area of Neff Street and Conner.
Detroit police officers from the ninth precinct were on routine patrol about 10:30 p.m. Thursday when they encountered three masked individuals standing next to a building, Detroit Police Chief Todd A. Bettison said in a video posted to the Detroit Police Department’s Facebook page Friday, July 4. Bettison said there had been a rash of breaking and entering incidents in the area.
