Lexington boxing class raises money, awareness for organization combating veteran suicide

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — At HITS Boxing Club in Lexington, expect two things: hard hits and even harder workouts.

“It’s not walking on the treadmill or circling the block for a mile. It’s boxing. You’re having fun, you know; it’s a mental thing as much as it is a physical thing,” said Amanda Herrington, a member at HITS Boxing Club.

Instead of the usual eight rounds, this Saturday morning workout was tough and had participants pushing through 22 rounds.

Lexington’s Catholic Action Center calls for kindness on Independence Day

Herrington said, “You don’t think about that. At that moment, you’re thinking, ‘I’m supporting an organization,’ and that’s what’s important in this.”…
