Lexington man allegedly tied victim up, took over $12K in cash, jewelry

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was arrested on Friday for allegedly binding a person using cable cords before stealing valuables, including a golden necklace.

Court documents show that around 10 p.m. on July 4, Julio Ivan Mendez Villeda, 22, allegedly came to a residence on the 800 block of Ward Drive carrying a loaded gun.

Officers with the Lexington Police Department said Villeda allegedly told the victim he’d shoot them if they moved before restraining them with the cords, which left cuts on their face and neck.

Another victim in the home locked herself in her room but wouldn’t leave due to fear of being hurt by Villeda, per an arrest citation…
