Local officials share how to safely store fireworks after the Fourth of July

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Firework safety extends past shooting them off and disposing of them – it also includes responsibly storing any fireworks that will be used in the future.

Shaun Hauter, founder of Hauter Fireworks, said people storing fireworks need to keep them in a building detached from their house.

“We recommend any outdoor building – an outbuilding, a shed, a trailer, a bunker, a storage container that you can rent – anything like that. But the main concern is that they stay dry,” Hauter said…
