‘Almost like a warzone:’ Residents react to chaotic 4th of July fireworks in Navy Yard

WASHINGTON (7News) — 7News received reports from D.C. residents concerned about what the rest of the weekend will look like. Videos showed juveniles setting off fireworks in the middle of traffic for hours on a busy street in Navy Yard on Friday night.

Christopher Reyes first heard fireworks going off in the middle of the street starting around 2 p.m., and he saw what was happening when it got dark.

“Fireworks were kind of being launched off in the middle of the intersections around us,” Reye said. “The teenagers were actually aiming for pedestrians or even cars, that were just walking by or driving by.”…
