Livonia man arrested for OWI after crashing into Amish buggy, injuring 2

GLADWIN — Two members of the Amish community were injured late Friday night when their buggy was struck by a vehicle on Wirtz Road near Nickless Road.

According to a July 7 news release from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 11:12 p.m. July 4. Deputies said a 2019 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 22-year-old Livonia man, was traveling eastbound when it collided with the buggy.

A 22-year-old Amish woman and a 16-year-old Amish boy were inside the buggy and sustained injuries that required medical treatment. As of Monday, both remained in stable condition but were continuing to receive care…
