SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WNCN) — Many roads were flooded, some were washed out, and more than a dozen water rescues took place Sunday in Moore County as Tropical Depression Chantal dumped 6 inches of rain in areas and a flash flood warning was issued.
U.S. 1 in Aberdeen was completely closed by flooding early Sunday evening. N.C. 5 was also closed at the intersection with US 1.
