FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Local fire departments have had a busy weekend putting out fires. Fresno County Fire announced that on the Fourth of July alone, they responded to 111 incidents, including 52 vegetation fires.
A grass fire along Highway 180 and Peach Avenue was contained after a few hours, but not without sending some neighbors into panic. The fire started around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
“My wife went on break and she came outside and saw it. And then my uncle down the street saw the smoke. So he came over here and, uh, so we just try to do good and let people know all around us,” neighbor Eric Rogers said…
