‘Weather event’ shuts down Interstate 85/40 in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A section of Interstate 85/40 in Alamance County shut down in both directions due to a “weather event,” according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The closure began early Monday morning and initially closed all the lanes of the highway on a three-mile stretch near Mebane.

The closure is between Exit 150 for Jimmie Kerr Road and Exit 152 for Trollingwood Hawfields Road.
