2 in custody following police chase in Owens Cross Roads

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. (WHNT) — The Owens Cross Roads Police Department says two people were arrested after trying to run from officers Saturday evening.

According to the police department, Officer Monson, who was on US 431, saw three motorcycles headed northbound near Wilson Mann Road, weaving in and out of traffic, a little before 7 p.m.

Monson caught up to the motorcycles near Eastwood Drive and conducted a traffic stop. However, instead of stopping, motorcyclists drove away at high speeds exceeding 120 mph.

The police department said Monson went after them and was able to get one of the motorcycles stopped in front of the Whataburger on US 431 near Wade Road, and that the other two continued to drive away…
