Armed Man Arrested at Naples Church During Sunday Service

A potentially dangerous situation at Manantial de Vida Church in Naples was safely resolved Sunday afternoon after deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call about an armed man acting erratically.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., deputies arrived at the church located at 5990 Golden Gate Parkway, where 23-year-old Angel Antonio Arreguin of Naples had alarmed church employees during an active service. According to reports, Arreguin was in the lobby when he told two employees he was a trained killer and asked how much money it would take to stop a mass shooting. He also appeared to have a firearm in his waistband.

Deputies quickly made contact with Arreguin and disarmed him without incident. A loaded handgun with a bullet in the chamber and three fully loaded 9mm magazines—totaling 60 rounds—were found in his possession…
