RAYTOWN, Mo. (KCTV) – Residents at Raytown’s Bowen Tower have organized the city’s first tenants’ union following prolonged maintenance issues and rent increases.
On Monday, July 7, KC Tenants announced that renters at Bowen Tower invited their landlord, Charles Hill, of Alta/CGHS Real Estate Investments, to negotiate with them.
Tenants demanded a bargained agreement with Hill that includes permanent fixes for the plumbing, HVAC system and elevators; regular maintenance; caps to rent increases; recognition of the union and protection against evictions and lease non-renewals…
