EUGENE, Ore. — Average gasoline prices in Eugene have decreased by 9.5 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $3.88 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 78 stations in the area. Despite the recent drop, prices in Eugene are still 4.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 17.4 cents per gallon higher than this time last year.
The national average price of gasoline has also fallen, dropping 5.3 cents per gallon in the last week to an average of $3.09 per gallon. This marks a decrease of 1.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and 37.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, based on GasBuddy data compiled from over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said, “Nearly every state saw average gas prices decline for the second straight week, even as the nation celebrated July 4th with the lowest national average for Independence Day since 2020.”…
