Around 350 pounds of illegal fireworks turned in, Eugene Police Department says

EUGENE, Ore. — The Metro Explosives Disposal Unit reports they collected from the public approximately 350 pounds of fireworks, an increase from previous years, the Eugene Police Department shared in an update Monday.

These were turned in during the Amnesty Days – July 2 and July 5 at 2nd and Chambers.

For comparison, here are the statistics for Amnesty Days in 2025 and in previous years:

  • 2025: Approximately 350 pounds
  • 2024: Approximately 264 pounds
  • 2023: Approximately 240 pounds
  • 2022: Approximately 245 pounds
  • 2021: Approximately 187 pounds
  • 2020: Approximately 235 pounds
