WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Investigator classified the cause of a fire that occurred at a home in Waipahu, as accidental.
HFD Investigators confirmed that the cause of the fire was due to fireworks igniting the exterior of the home after being set off at the rear of the property.
The estimated damage is $500,000, including losses to the primary residence and one neighboring home.
HFD responded to Leowaena St. at approximately 1:53 p.m. and found that the fire had extended to a neighboring home. Crews had water on the fire by 2 p.m…
