Point Loma Nazarene University rallies to support North Shore surfer after tragic accident

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The 20-year-old North Shore surfer, Dakota Briley, who is fighting for his life at Queens Medical Center, has a large support system rooting for him in San Diego, CA.

Briley, who just finished his second year at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), was hit by an 18-year-old driver when he was on the side of the road in Haleiwa on June 14. He was crushed between two cars, critically injuring his spine, scull and lower body.

Following numerous surgeries, Briley has woken up from his coma, and the family said they are slowly introducing him to his life and himself again…
