BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — California Highway Patrol (CHP) announced it will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in an unincorporated area of Bakersfield. The checkpoint will operate from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Officers will be on the lookout for drivers exhibiting signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Additional officers will be on hand to evaluate those suspected of impaired driving.
The CHP highlighted the effectiveness of such checkpoints. They stated that research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized DUI checkpoints and DUI patrols are held routinely…
