Tarrant city leaders set to vote on removing fire chief after accusations of workplace misconduct

TARRANT, Ala. (WBRC) – Tarrant city leaders have decided to wait until Thursday, July 10 to vote on whether or not to remove the current Fire Chief, Jason Rickles, from his position.

A public disciplinary hearing was held on Monday, July 7 for Rickles after Tarrant Mayor Wayman Newton accused Rickles of workplace misconduct.

Newton claims that Rickles used a homophobic slur and derogatory language in front of other employees. Newton also accused Rickles of sexual harassment and retaliatory threats…
