Summerville police report zero homicides in 2025 after record-setting year

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – After what police called a record-setting year for homicides in 2024, Summerville police say they have not responded to a single homicide so far in 2025.

“So far in 2025 we’re proud to say that we have had zero homicides,” said Deputy Chief Chris Hirsch. “It’s a great trend, and this is what we love seeing.”
