Liquor store operations increasing in Clarksville

On Tuesday, July 1, the Clarksville City Council voted in favor of a resolution approving 11 new liquor store certificates using a lottery drawing of eligible applicants.

The applicants applied for a Retail Liquor Store Certificate of Compliance from the city according to regulations of the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission for the operation of a liquor store.

The City of Clarksville’s code allows one liquor store for every 6,000 residents, which equates to a limit of 27 stores. Previously, only 16 liquor stores had received approval…
