WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — It’s like a summer picnic, but for some students in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System, it is a daily event.
It is all part of the school district’s summer meals program. According to Amanda Malloy, the WSFCS Summer Meals Coordinator, students get fed all across the county. “We have a total of 39 sites, 21 of them are a mobile site like what we’re doing here today,” she said. “It’s very big, but it’s one of the most important things that we do, ensuring that kids have access to nutrition meals across our county.”
