NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) — An expected heat index of 100 degrees has prompted Newark officials to declare a Code Red from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Residents of Newark are encouraged to take precautions against serious illnesses caused by extreme heat, including heat stroke.
