Sheriff’s patrol car hits, kills 2 Alabama pedestrians, FHP says

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Two people were killed Saturday as they crossed the road in Florida.

Missing fisherman’s body recovered near Dauphin Island

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, a 47-year-old Pensacola man was driving east on State Road 292 at about 1:57 a.m. when he hit two people crossing the road near River Road.

The FHP later revealed the driver was a law enforcement officer with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, who was driving home from an off-duty job.. The car involved was an unmarked Escambia County Patrol Car.
