Gulf Coast residents feel ‘weather alert fatigue’ as officials reiterate preparedness

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Notifications, such as weather watches, warnings and advisories, pop up on our phones all the time. Now, it’s leading to what some call, “weather alert fatigue.” This is similar to a “boy who cried wolf” situation.

People receive so many emergency weather alerts nowadays that many are starting to tune them out. It’s putting lives at risk.

The ring of an alert may sound your phone or flash across the tv. Some say that these notifications are bombarding them. So, they ignore them…
