TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The spotted lanternflies are back and they’re popping up in different areas across Toledo.
If you look closely, you’ll notice some specks on trees aren’t really specks they’re lanternflies, and there are hundreds of them.
“They’re everywhere!” said Toledo resident Edward Mallett. “I’ll pull into the lot — well into the driveway at times and be washing a car, and then when I go to dry it, I’m drying it off, and where’s these bugs coming from? I’m swatting them away and stumping at them. Then finally one day I just happened to look up and I realized that they’re all in the tree. They’re just covered with them.”…
