Mansfield woman faces vehicular homicide charge over crash that killed Shreveport motorcyclist

A woman law enforcement officers believe was impaired at the time of the crash has been arrested by the Louisiana State Police after police say she reportedly caused the death of a motorcycle driver in Bossier Parish.

Scarlett Jackson, 24, faces potential charges of vehicular homicide, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to yield. Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Airline Drive about five miles north of Interstate 220 at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was Shreveport resident Byron Smith, 41, who was thrown from his motorcycle. LSP reported he was wearing a helmet, but he was pronounced dead at the scene…
