GARDEN CITY, Idaho — A Garden City police officer’s act of kindness last week led to a community partnership that transformed a local worker’s daily commute.
Police stated that Officer Voth responded to a welfare check call after someone reported seeing a woman walking behind a business and sitting down during hot weather. The officer found Jennifer resting in the shade and learned about her challenging daily routine.
Jennifer travels by bus to State Street and Glenwood Avenue, then walks 4.5 miles to her job at Chinden Boulevard and 30th Street, a walk that takes her an hour and 40 minutes each way. She said she has maintained this routine for several months…
