Virginia man charged with murder after man found shot inside Southeast DC apartment

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A Virginia man is facing a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of a man inside a D.C. apartment last month.

Just before 2 a.m. on June 27, officers responded to the 4200 block of 4th Street SE for a reported disturbance. There, they located 29-year-old Deandre Lewis, of Northeast, inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Medics tried to save Lewis, but he died.
