CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department has awarded a $12,000 grant to the ARCHway Institute to aid individuals in need of recovery services within the community. This funding is sourced from Opioid Settlement Funds received by the city as part of nationwide efforts to combat the opioid epidemic.
The grant is part of the department’s commitment to proactive community engagement and support for those affected by substance use disorders, according to a press release from the Cape Coral Police Department. ARCHway Institute will use the funds to provide financial assistance for services such as treatment, recovery housing, peer support, and counseling in Cape Coral.
“We know that substance use disorder is a complex challenge that affects not only individuals, but entire families and neighborhoods,” said Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore. “As a police department, we are committed to being part of the solution by connecting people to the resources they need to recover and thrive.”…
