New ‘Superman’ movie features multiple Cincinnati landmarks; local fans get early showing

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — The new “Superman” movie is set to soar into theaters this Friday, but some lucky local fans got an early glimpse on Monday.

Film Cincinnati hosted an advanced screening of the film, which features scenes shot at the city’s iconic Union Terminal and the Lytle Tunnel. The terminal served as the inspiration for the “Hall of Justice.”

The production tapped into local talent, employing extras and crew members from the Greater Cincinnati area. Kristen Schlotman, president and CEO of Film Cincinnati, highlighted the city’s growing film industry.

“Over the course of the last decade, Cincinnati has been building a bigger and bigger union roster and a bench of people that can support major motion pictures,” Schlotman said. “Those are good paying jobs, union jobs that left Ohio and manufacturing left Ohio, that these jobs are now back.”…
