KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man was killed after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on North Broadway.

The Knoxville Police Department said officers responded to a crash involving a black Nissan Xterra and a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of North Broadway and Rose Drive around 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday. The motorcyclist died at the scene while the Xterra driver was taken to the hospital.

According to KPD’s preliminary investigation, the Xterra was attempting to cross Broadway from the intersection with Old Broadway and pull into the shopping center at 2901 Tazewell Pike. The motorcycle, which was going north, then hit the passenger side of the Xterra, KPD said. The car then hit a building in the shopping center and rolled into the parking lot.

The northbound lanes of Broadway are closed, and traffic is diverted to Tazewell Pike due to the crash. Police said to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
