Brutal triple-digit heat grips SoCal as warnings issued for kids and pregnant women

Parts of Southern California are set to sizzle in triple-digit temperatures this week during the region’s first heat wave of the summer.

The National Weather Service said temperatures will soar to up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday and Thursday. Heat may linger through the weekend across the interior areas.

Inland communities will be most affected, with a heat advisory in place for areas of San Diego County, including San Marcos, El Cajon, La Mesa, Escondido, Poway and Santee from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 8 p.m. Thursday.
