Dog, cat rescued from single-story duplex fire on Sylvan Court Tuesday, Tallahassee firefighters say

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A dog and a cat were both rescued Tuesday morning after a single-story duplex on Sylvan Court caught fire, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.

The incident unfolded just before 9:45 a.m. after firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Sylvan Court, TFD wrote in a press release Tuesday just before noon. Units responded to the scene, finding smoke coming from a single-story duplex, firefighters said.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames to one side of the structure, primarily located in the bedroom with some extending into the attic, according to TFD.

However, units were able to bring the fire under control before it could continue to spread.

During operations, firefighters rescued a dog and a cat from the home, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported…
