Heating up across West Texas

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – South Plains weather will be trending hotter and drier over the next several days. Temperatures, though climbing, will end up only slightly above average. Rain chances, though declining, will remain above zero.

While the potential for a storm at any given location is low, any of the storms that do form or move into our area may become marginally severe.

That is, while not every storm will be, some may be accompanied by hail up to about half-dollar size (1.25″), wind gusts greater than 60 mph (which may cause damage), and heavy rainfall (which may result in localized flooding).

Watch and listen for watches and warnings which may be issued.

Late in the week, mainly this weekend, the pattern will trend toward less heat and a greater chance of storms, and therefore rain…
