Girl Scouts in Lubbock collect donations to take with them to Kerrville

LUBBOCK, Texas — The local community in Lubbock wanted to help out Kerrville, Texas as they continued their recovery efforts after the fatal flash flooding, but specifically the Girl Scouts were helping out.

Lubbock Girl Scout Troop 6432 created a list of items for the community to donate to their location, so they can bring them in person to Kerrville.

  • Bleach
  • Brooms
  • Shovels
  • Trash bags
  • Diapers
  • Baby wipes
  • Clothes

CEO of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Becky Burton, emphasized how proud she was of these girl scouts and the work they we’re doing.

“Everybody has some connection to a camp, and I think that that’s the spirit of Texas is that we all take care of each other, and I think that it just does my heart so good to see that our girls saw the need, like I said before, it saw the need and that they can do something to help,” Burton said.

The Girl Scouts were also partnering with local businesses in Lubbock to get the whole community involved. This included Our Legacy Construction, who was accepting donations as well to bring them to the Girl Scouts…
