OMAI to host Brave New Voices festival in Madison July 16-19

The Office of Multicultural Arts Initiative will host the Brave New Voices festival, a vibrant celebration of art and slam poetry, at the University of Wisconsin–Madison from Wednesday-Saturday, July 16-July 19.

Brave New Voices is a national youth poetry festival where hundreds of young poets and the nation’s leading artists convene every year in a different U.S. city for four days of arts education, performance, and civic engagement.

This year marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time this prestigious festival is held in Madison. The theme for 2025 is “Poetry in Motion.” The opening ceremonies for the festival will take place Wednesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. The festival will close out on Saturday, July 19 at 5 p.m. with the Brave New Voices Youth Poetry Slam Finals…
