Oklahoma Crews Assist in Texas Flood Recovery
Tulsa Fire Chief Michael Baker shared new details about Oklahoma Task Force One’s deployment to Texas, where crews are aiding in the aftermath of deadly flooding that swept through areas including Camp Mystic. Baker said the initial response focused on swift-water rescues, but operations have now transitioned into recovery efforts.

Twelve team members from Tulsa and Oklahoma City were deployed, including a group with prior experience in North Carolina flood response in 2024. The team is working alongside others from across the country to search for victims as the waters recede. A trio of human remains detection dogs from Tulsa is also part of the recovery mission.
