Deputies shot and killed a man in Transylvania County Sunday after authorities said he fired a gun at deputies responding to a welfare call.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a Pizza Hut on Pisgah Highway in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. Pisgah Forest sits about 30 miles south of Asheville.
